This year St. Louis was special. Biff had come over from Germany to visit and check out not only the States, but also the scooter scene. Of course No one ever beleived Arne and I when we told them how awesome Midwestern rallies are. So Biff and I decided to take my good old Chevy Caprice Classic '73 out to St. Louis.

Last minute we rented a U-Haul to the bikes there. We took my red Allstate and the good old P200.

It started out very amusing. Since my car doesn't have a hanger, the guys at U-Haul fit some sort of thing to my bumper. To test if it was okay, the guy jumped up and down on it like a monkey. What a bunch of freaks

After the short 5 hour drive, we arrived in St. Louis around 10 pm. We noticed that we had forgotton a tent and sleeping bag. So we figured we would have to get wasted enough to be able to pass out on the gras.

The site was awesome. This year everything was under the motto of a Wild West Rodeo. They even had a mechanical bull. Great job. Pam, Skye, and Scotty from Denver were working the Kegs. Paul and Mark were there too, working the Kegs of course. So how could we resist? The rest of the night remains blurry, eventhough I do remember not sleeping too well on the floor.

The beast this year was extraordinary. It was painted like a cow, and a driver came with it dressed up as a cow. He tried to advertise his fifth titt for chicks to suck on, but of course... well I guess it just didn't work.

The beast even had a cast iron tail welded to it. Awesome. And I do believe for the first time in St. Louis, the beast did not break down! Great job guys!

Here we see Pam and Skye... from Denver of course (thanks for letting us sleep in your tent).

Saturday morning started out with a fun game, which the Aboriginal S.C. could proudly win. Denver almost made it and the kids from Fist City weren't doing bad either, but hey, WE'RE THE GERMANS! Jawohl.

During the day we went for the usual ride out to the bowling alley and swimming in the river. It was great, the heat was killing us and everyone enjoyed the cool-down.

After that, Hard Luck served us an awesome meal. They're good cooks, no complaining, I just wish they were just as good at tuning scoots.

This scoot on the left is remarkable. This guy is traveling the United States on that bike. He is from New Zealand. It is an SS 90 with extended forks and a P engine. Pad on the shoulder from the scooter communities around the world to this dare devil.

On the right a real SS 90. Wonderful restoration job. I didn't even know these bikes ever made it to the States.
Upon the fall of dusk, the fun games started. Once again Hard Luck S.C. had a program planned for all night. I think it started out with the Gymkhana. I do admit that the Germans did very, very poor on this. Not like we're used to. The guy on the right tried to go on the track pulling that little scooter. One part of the track was a board with barrel in the middle you had to drive over. Guess what happen when the scooter made it over and the guy being pulled got dragged right into the board.

A bunch of crazy people made their way to the Gymkhana. Of course the beast participated with its rider-cow.

In the end, nobody could beat Stony who had come dressed up very professionally in a dirt bike outfit. The organizers gave extra credit for people that were crazy enough to jump over the dirthole.

Once again thanks to Hard Luck S.C. for a very good rally. I here they don't want to organize a rally next year. If that's the case, Mark, I will come over there and beat the shit out of you guys. I mean it.
