After the sun had been baking our asses long enough, we finally decided to take off, accompanied by a pace car. It had Mayer Drop's good old P200 tied to it (no one believed it would be able to make it all the way, and if you heard the weird noises that engine produces, neither would you).
Our first stop caught us pretty unaware. We thought that it would be more than just 60 km, before the first Vespa stopped. This is Pissi, me and Everell waiting in the sun for Spachtel to show up, who's tire had just blown. Fortunately I was smart enough to take the spare along...

After that, we happily rode one. As this next stop got us, a feeling of slight bitterness started to loom. We had only gotten 100 km farther, as Pissi's duck taped Kegra decided not to hold to his P anymore. We were pretty lucky that a welder happened to have his store right next to the Autobahn, letting us weld that piece of shit back together. |

We then continued on through some of Germany's nicest landscape, as the Autobahn led our way through Neustadt an der Weinstraße, up to Mannheim and on to Koblenz. This is where we met up with the Kulturbanausen S.C. Rheinland, who were having a pre-Aachen BBQ for the southern clubs. Our journey was only disrupted by Spachtel's exhaust refusing to stay on the Malossi cylinder.
Once we found the Kulturbanausen's awesome BBQ site right at the Mosel's whine-growing valleys, we only had to get our Vespas up the steep hill. No problem you think? So do I, but Pissi's scooter decided to lend him no more than 4th gear to do the job. So he actually ended up walking up the hill.. Hahahihi. |
